I've been part of the Simple Solutions team since mid-2019, and currently work as the RTO Admin Team Leader and Student Administration Officer. In this role, I mainly manage student enrolments and ensure compliance requirements are met surrounding this, especially where government subsidies are involved.
Over the years, I’ve gained a solid set of admin skills on the job, but my foundation has always been in customer service, thanks to my previous roles. That background shaped the way I work, and I bring a service-focused mindset to everything I do.
I genuinely enjoy working in such a dynamic environment, surrounded by like-minded colleagues who are all committed to delivering the best possible experience for our students. There's a strong team spirit here, and it’s great to be part of a group that’s always ready to step up and make things happen.

Susan chose to work for Simple Solutions as she is based in Bauple and the organisation offered flexible working conditions with an approachable and considerate employer.
When Susan isn’t busy travelling Queensland to deliver training, she can be found in her garden or helping with our Community Aged Care Provider, Senior Helpers.

I began my career with Simple Solutions as a support worker and later became a House Leader. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I was unable to continue in the support worker role that I enjoyed. However, my desire to help others remained strong, so I shifted my career path to become a trainer, focusing on empowering individuals to support those in need and uphold their dignity in life.
I am now a trainer for Certificate III and IV in Individual Support at Simple Solutions, combining educational expertise with hands-on industry experience. I leverage my practical knowledge and vocational placement experience to create a supportive and engaging learning environment, ensuring that my students receive the best possible educational experience.

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic trainer for the Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) at Simple Solutions, bringing both educational expertise and hands-on industry experience. Having recently completed my Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, and General), I apply my practical knowledge and vocational placement experience to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Since starting as a trainer in April 2024, I have been committed to equipping students with the skills and confidence needed for success in the care industry. My passion for quality training, combined with my experience in support work, allows me to connect theory with real-world application, ensuring my students receive the best possible learning experience.

Scotty Rees is a fierce advocate for the Lived Experience Workforce here in Australia and believes in the co-creative power of the peer relationship. Scotty has been navigating both sides of the Mental Health system in Australia for the last 35 years and has definitely experienced the more questionable side of treatment and support (what not do to people). Layers of lived experiences run deep in Scotty and they include long addiction, incarceration, homelessness, childhood trauma and mental distress and everything that comes with those. After Peer work training in 2014 Scotty was cracked open to new ways of being with people and most of all a new way to make sense of how he experiences the world. Scotty has been working using relational experience-based practice since 2014 in Community based mental health services, Juvenile and adult justice system, Allied health, AOD services and Clinical settings. Scotty has passed on this practice becoming a globally recognised trainer. This is in his bones, and it works. Scotty is an Alternatives to Suicide Group facilitator and facilitates SMART recovery meetings. Most of his work has been in regional and rural areas across three states of Australia. Scotty now lives in Hervey Bay, Queensland with his life partner. Scotty is a connector that thrives in human experience and is just so honoured doing this work and being a part of and watching the ever-reaching ripple of Peer Support.
“I will not be defined by diagnosis”

Bec has over six years of dedicated experience in disability support, specializing in Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) with complex barriers to functional movement restrictions. Relocated to Hervey Bay in December 2018 and began full-time work with another disability support company. Rod Schulz recommended her for a position with Nat Sells; where I started part-time in January 2019, transitioning to a permanent role by December 2019.
Throughout my tenure at Simple Solutions, I have held various roles; demonstrating a deep commitment to advocating for vulnerable individuals in the community, a passion for working with complex high-care needs and challenging behaviours, and a driven approach—wanting to assist with education, sharing my experience with others to help build the best support network for our participants.

As a Support Services Coordinator, I bring a calm, thoughtful approach to my work—along with a strong sense of humor and a genuine love for diversity in the workplace. With nearly six years of experience in the disability sector across a range of roles, each opportunity has deepened my passion for helping people who need it most.
I value inclusion and bring that into everything I do—whether it’s building trust with clients, supporting my team, or sharing a well-timed laugh to brighten the day. Two things that keep me going in this role? Coffee and snacks—I’m always hungry and always eating! But more than that, it’s the people I support and the positive impact I can make each day that truly drive me.
