Funding Your Studies
Subsidies are available for eligible students for some courses we offer. These subsidies are offered through a variety of programs and eligibility checks are a requirement of each program. The information provided below will give you an overview of some of the funding that is accessible for training offered by Simple Solutions. Please follow the links in this information to the relevant government websites to access the full suite of information on these funding opportunities to inform your choices. It is important to note that most of these programs can only be accessed once by an individual.
Career Start
From 1 July 2025, Career Start will give Queenslanders access to free and reduced‑cost training in areas where there are real job opportunities. This program is designed to help people build new skills, change careers, and get into work – with extra support to achieve successful outcomes.
To be eligible, you must:
Live permanently in Queensland
Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant), temporary resident on a pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen
Not currently be enrolled in any qualification
Not have completed a Certificate III or higher in the last 10 years (general training pathway)
Not have undertaken more than two government‑funded apprenticeships or traineeships in the last 10 years
What is the general training pathway?
The general training pathway covers government‑funded training that is not part of:
School-based programs
Work-based programs
Priority apprenticeships or traineeships
It’s mainly for people who want to:
Gain new skills
Re-enter the workforce
Change careers
Career Boost
From 1 July 2025, Career Boost will help existing workers upskill through reduced‑cost Certificate IV and higher qualifications. This program is designed to give you the advanced skills you need to progress your career or move into new opportunities.
To be eligible, you must:
Be aged 15 years or older
Not be a current school student
Live permanently in Queensland
Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant), temporary resident on a pathway to permanent residency with the right visa and work permits, or a New Zealand citizen
Not have completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification (including university degrees) in the last 10 years
(Qualifications started at school or foundation skills qualifications don’t count)
Not be currently enrolled in another qualification (funded or unfunded), except foundation skills courses
